What is the difference between brakes and ABS systems?

A normal brake is used to stop a rolling wheel.

That is why, when you brake suddenly or on a slippery road, the car can skid due to the sudden stop of the wheel.

You may ask why the wheel skids when it stops, but when the wheel stops, friction occurs in normal situations and static friction force is generated, but in situations such as sudden braking or on a slippery road, the static friction force changes to kinetic friction force, which reduces the braking force compared to normal.

The ABS system is a device to prevent this, preventing the brakes from locking.

In situations like the above, when you step on the brake, it automatically releases the locked wheels slightly to maintain the static friction force. That is why it continuously increases the braking force and steering force without us knowing it!

If the ABS system is ON, you can stop the car without it rolling, but if the ABS system is OFF, you can see the car rolling all the way. If the vehicle continues to roll, it can be a very dangerous situation as there is a risk of collision or crash.

You can't drive with your life at stake, right?
To protect our lives, drive safely by maintaining your vehicle safely and using genuine ABS parts!
