Hyundai Motor Group achieved outstanding performance in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) recent crash evaluation.
In particular, the rating of Ioniq 5 was raised to TSP+, the highest rating.
Vehicles that received a TSP+ rating this year include three Hyundai models, including the IONIQ 6, IONIQ 5, and Kona, as well as Genesis' G90 and G80 electrified models, GV80 and GV60, and Kia's Telluride.
As for models that received TSP ratings, six Hyundai models including Avante, Tucson, Palisade, Santa Cruz, Sonata, and Santa Fe, Genesis' GV70, GV70 electric model, and Kia Sportage were selected.
This evaluation was conducted in accordance with the strengthened standards applied starting this year, and particularly stringent standards were applied in the evaluation of rear seat passenger protection and pedestrian collision prevention systems.
Crash evaluation requires a good rating in front small overlap, frontal collision, and side collision to obtain a TSP+ rating, and acceptable or better scores are also required in headlight evaluation and front collision prevention system tests.
