Hyundai Motor Company's Xcient hydrogen electric truck surpassed 10 million km of accumulated mileage in Switzerland, proving the world's best hydrogen fuel cell technology and reliability.
This is an achievement achieved 3 years and 8 months after the Xcient hydrogen electric truck, the world's first mass-produced large hydrogen electric truck, began operation in Switzerland in October 2020.
The Xcient hydrogen electric truck, of which a total of 48 units are currently in operation in Switzerland, is equipped with a 180kw hydrogen fuel cell system consisting of two hydrogen fuel cells and a 350kw drive motor with a maximum output of 350kw, and can travel up to 400km on a single charge.
Unlike regular diesel commercial trucks, the Xcient hydrogen electric truck does not emit carbon dioxide while driving and only emits pure water.
In particular, all Xcient hydrogen electric trucks operated in Switzerland use only 'green hydrogen' as fuel, which does not generate carbon during the production process, contributing to building a global carbon-neutral ecosystem.
Hyundai's Xcient hydrogen electric truck is recognized for its reliability and eco-friendliness as it is being tested and operated in 10 countries, including Switzerland and the United States, as well as Korea, Germany, France, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
