The K4 hatchback model unveiled this time is characterized by a combination of practicality and sporty appeal based on Kia's innovative design philosophy, 'Opposit United'.
Kia Motors announced that it applied 'innovative attempts toward the future' in the design and functions of the K4 hatchback, completing a strong and dynamic exterior design. In particular, the sleek and sporty silhouette, applied only to the hatchback model, reflects an urban lifestyle.
Kia Motors' global design director emphasized that the hatchback model aimed to provide both practicality and aesthetic appeal.
First, looking at the side lines, the existing roof line was applied sharply and extended to the rear, but the K4 hatchback has a roof line that falls gently. The contrasting steep line of the A-pillar creates a sleek appearance even though it is a hatchback.
In addition, the angled air intake on the front and Kia's star map signature DRL extend sharply to the side.
The sporty yet sleek design tone gives it a different feel from the existing model.
At the rear, the rear spoiler protrudes and covers the rear glass, and the character line that runs from the side extends to the rear, giving it an angular, voluminous feel.
As the hatchback style becomes more popular, demand is expected to be high.
