Hyundai Mobis has brought together innovative display technologies to present the standard for a future digital cockpit.
The digital cockpit is an infotainment system installed in front of the driver and passenger seats in the vehicle, providing various driving information and images, and communicating with the outside world.
This is a field where global technological competition is fierce as the development of autonomous driving and electrification technologies has accelerated recently.
The recently unveiled ‘MBIX 5.0’ is the latest version of the next-generation integrated cockpit system that encompasses all digital cockpit technologies. As can be seen from the product development motto, we focused on the convergence of various display technologies.
First of all, in terms of design, the entire wide front area, from the left pillar of the driver's seat to the right pillar of the passenger seat, was integrated into one large screen cockpit without borders.
Here, we have integrated technology that adjusts the size and tilt of the display panel depending on the driving mode.
Mvix 5.0 is composed of a total of 5 display panels, including a 27-inch main screen that displays the instrument panel, map information, media, etc., a 12.3-inch high-definition screen for the passenger seat, a 7-inch screen containing various vehicle status information, and a button operation system as if it were one. They are connected seamlessly like a large display, providing a spacious and open driver's seat environment.
In the general 'Drive Mode', part of the panel moves down to the bottom of the dashboard in 'Theater Mode', where you can watch video content on a small display, or in 'Relax Mode', where you take a break, the display tilts and tilts to match the tilt of the steering wheel and seat. The size is automatically adjusted.
