Korean car brands expand global car share In the crisis of COVID-19

It was found that Korean auto brands increased their global share in the first quarter of this year despite the spread of the novel COVID-19.

In the first quarter of this year, car sales in major global markets decreased by 27.5% compared to the previous year, but amid global sales decline, Korean, American and Japanese brands increased their global market share.

The reason that Korean automobiles were able to increase their global market share in COVID-19 is that our company's factory utilization rate has maintained the highest level among major automakers due to rapid response to COVID-19, and SUV competitiveness with a full lineup of vehicle size and fuel.

Based on this, the analysis by the Korea Automobile Industry Association is the result of maintaining strong performance in the US, Europe and India.
