Kia is producing electrification and solidifying production in the European automobile market with the electric crossover SUV ‘Kia EV9’.
Through 'The Kia Brand Summit' held in Germany for 15 days from the 15th (Monday, local time), Kia targeted the media in 20 major European countries, including Germany, the UK, France and Italy. It was announced on May 30 (Tuesday) that it unveiled the EV9 for the first time and announced its mid- to long-term electrification strategy in the European market.
As a Korean traditional car, Kia is marked on EV6, Kia's first dedicated electric vehicle that has made a remarkable impression by putting it on the 'European Car of the Year (COTY)' as a Korean traditional car. The EV9, an electric SUV, will be scrapped to make the European electric vehicle market attractive once again.
The EV9 is a large electrified SUV that applies not only a wide space and grand design based on a dedicated platform, but also cutting-edge technologies such as highway autonomous driving (HDP), Kia Connect Store, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates. Kia also applied 10 essential sustainable materials to put the company's efforts and commitment to sustainability into the EV9.
The EV9 for Europe, which is scheduled to be released in the second half of this year, has an ocean matte blue as its main exterior color, and some front designs are differentiated from Korean and American models.
